GUEST OF THE EMPEROR

Discover, enjoy, celebrate, meet and stay overnight

A landscape like a work of art presents itself to visitors when they come to the Arenenberg, which is steeped in history. On 9 May 1906, Empress Eugénie – wife of Napoléon III, last Emperor of France – donated the entire estate to the Canton of Thurgau. Today, guests stay at the hotel in an outbuilding of the castle estate and enjoy slow food with ingredients from the estate’s own farms. A tour of the Napoleon Museum on site is a must, after which you can explore the Seerücken power region on foot or by bike, depending on your preference, which borders the unique cultural areas of Lake Constance. Constance is only 10 km away and the extended region attracts with numerous, well-known excursion destinations.
